WILLISTON, Fla. (AP) --
Motorists on northbound Interstate 75 are being detoured due to possible structural damage to the Williston Road overpass.
The Florida Highway Patrol says a tractor-trailer hauling
equipment hit the overpass about 9:30 a.m. Monday, bringing traffic
to a standstill south of Gainesville.
Officials say the delay could last for several hours or longer
because Florida Department of Transportation experts will have to
examine the overpass before the road reopens.
Northbound traffic is being diverted from I-75 at Micanopy and
directed along U.S. 441 to Gainesville, where motorists can return
to the interstate.
