Domestic Disturbance in Jackson County --
On Thursday, November 25th, 2010 at 9:32PM, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic disturbance at 5042 Oak Dr. in Bascom, Florida.
During the course of the investigation, Deputies learned that Michael Anthony Herbert had reportedly held his girlfriend against her will in their residence for 45 minutes to an hour before choking her unconscious, biting her repeatedly, and striking about the face.
While Deputies were searching for Mr. Herbert, they discovered that he had also taken the victim’s vehicle without her permission. A BOLO (Be On Look Out) was issued for the stolen vehicle and the suspect.
At approximately 10:27PM, the suspect was observed by Deputies driving the stolen vehicle in the Merritt’s Mill Road area. He attempted to elude officers for a short distance before exiting the vehicle and running behind a storage shed off of Owens St.
He was arrested and lodged in the Jackson County Correctional Facility charged with Felony Domestic Battery by Strangulation, False Imprisonment, Grand Theft Auto, and Felony Driving While License Suspended. (3rd Subsequent Offense)
