Tallahassee, FL - The Dream Defenders are starting week three of their sit in at the Capitol. The group complained over the weekend that the Florida Department of Law Enforcement wasn't allowing them to bring in food. FDLE reiterated their no one in or out policy when the capitol is closed in response to the Dream Defenders complaints.

Local state Representative Halsey Beshears stopped by to talk with the organization Monday. They're demanding a special session to repeal the Stand Your Ground law. Beshears doesn't think it's the right move right now.

"Do we need to do something different? It's got to be looked at, but the intent of the law is good, I agree with it," said Rep. Besehars.

Even if Beshears isn't on board, the Dream Defenders say they have 20% of the legislature backing them. That would require the Secretary of State to officially poll all lawmakers and see if there is a 3/5ths majority in favor of a special session.

"The secretary of state upon receiving 20% of the legislature supporting a special session will poll the entire legislature. We'll be announcing the names at our press conference," said Gonzalo Vizcardo, one of the members of the group.

The group will hold their own special session in the senate chambers of Florida's old capitol to announce the names on Tuesday.
