Tallahassee-- The Tallahassee Police Department will serve as a collection site for a DEA sponsored “Drug Drop” on Saturday October 26th from 10am-2pm, at TPD for any community members wishing to dispose of unwanted medication. Community members can simply bring their expired or unwanted medication in a suitable container and a TPD officer will assist them with disposing of the medication . Due to health and safety concerns, the “Drug Drop” will not accept liquids, needles or razors. The medication will be safely destroyed by Police personnel. “Retention of expired drugs can lead to accidental ingestion by children or to diversion by persons not prescribed the drugs. In providing the Drug Drop, The Tallahassee Police Department is arranging for a safe manner in which to dispose of those drugs” said Interim Police Chief Tom Coe.
