Endeavour Tourist Frenzy

Hotels and restaurants along Florida's Space Coast are hoping for record business this week as crowds arrive to watch space shuttle Endeavour's final launch.

Most hotels are already sold out in advance of Friday's scheduled launch, which is the next-to-last for the program.

President Barack Obama and his family will be in attendance. The mission is also attracting attention because its commander is Mark Kelly, whose wife is Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.

Giffords is recuperating from a serious head wound suffered in a January assassination attempt, but arrived at Cape Canaveral on
Wednesday and is expected to watch the launch from a private
location.

Some officials are expecting 500,000 people or more to attend.

Does the POTUS have to be in the Oval Office to do his job? I do not like most of Obama's policies, but i do not see the logig of your question.

Are folks there to see the next-to-last shuttle launch or the disabled Congressperson or the PR needy Obamas? What about the LAST shuttle fight in June; will the POTUS show for that historical national event....?
