FAMU Alum Wins 2012 Black Enterprise $10,000 Elevator Pitch Contest!

Florida A&M University (FAMU) Alum, Ebonee Monique-owner of the boutique ghostwriting firm, Mama I Want to Write-has been named the winner of the 2012 Black Enterprise $10,000Elevator Pitch contest! The contest, which took place during the annual Black Enterprise Entrepreneurs Conference in Chicago, IL May 23-26, 2012, gave top 10 finalists the opportunity to pitch their business ideas to celebrity judges and a live audience for a chance to win $10,000 towards the start-up of their business.
The celebrity judges this year were actress Kim Coles, author and radio personality Michael Baisden and Founder of The CASHFLOW, Magnus Greaves.
Ebonee Monique, owner of Mama I Want to Write, is thrilled to have won.
"Last year, I was watching this elevator pitch from the audience. I am overjoyed to be able to see my growth as a business owner and to have received such great feedback from my pitch!” Monique said. Monique, a Tampa native, is the daughter of Former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Council Rudolph, Jr. and wife Anne Rudolph. The 2004 Florida A&M University (FAMU) graduate, traveled to Chicago for the Black Enterprise Entrepreneurs Conference where pitched her business idea to an estimated 1,500 attendees on May 24, 2012, which also served as her 30thbirthday.
For the founder, the honor of presenting during the Elevator Pitch competition, hosted by Shannon Lanier, was the cherry on top of the four-day conference geared at educating entrepreneurs while allowing them to network.
Mama I Want to Write, a ghostwriting, editing, proofreading, content development and writing resource firm, was chosen from hundreds of entries as a top 10 finalist. Mama I Want to Write was designed to help those who lack time, patience, skill or passion with their writing needs. "Everyone has a story, but not everyone has the time to commit to making that happen; that's where Mama I Want to Write comes in!"
In addition to the $10,000, Ebonee Monique will also participate in an 8-week mentoring workshop with The CASHFLOW and appear as “Business of the Week” on Michael Baisden’s syndicated radio program.
