TALLAHASSEE, Fla. —
The Florida A&M University (FAMU) Small Business Development Center in partnership with the Florida Office of Small Business Advocate will host a Small Business Issues and Recommendations Forum, Thursday, January 27 at City Hall, Second Floor, from 9 a.m. to noon.
The purpose of the forum is to discuss ways to improve the environment for small and medium-sized business expansion in Florida.
“It is important to have the Small Business Issues and Recommendations Forum because of the economic conditions that the country is facing and the dramatic affect it is having on small business owners,” said Interim Director of the Small Business Development Center Keith Bowers. “Our policy makers should be made aware of our concerns. This forum will serve as a place where opinions can be heard with a common goal of crafting a solution.”
Other objectives of the forum include:
- Discussing issues that negatively impact small business growth in Florida
- Identifying state regulations or statutes that impede small business expansion or new venture formation
- Providing information to small business on how to obtain government assistance.
