Tallahassee, FL - The Florida State University Career Center and the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce invite local employers to participate in the Spring-Summer Part-Time Job Fair that will be held on the FSU campus in the Oglesby Union Ballrooms from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011.
Participating employers will have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with students to discuss present part-time and future job openings. Florida State job fairs are aimed at boosting student awareness about part-time, temporary and seasonal jobs in Tallahassee. Many qualified applicants are expected to be on hand –– more than 1,200 students attended each of the previous two events.
Registration for employers is free for on-campus departments and $50 for off-campus employers. The fee includes a table at the event, parking, and lunch for two representatives. Early registration ends Dec. 15, after which the fee increases to $75. “Most employers find there’s always a need for qualified part-time employees, and students find that part-time work helps them develop new skills and competencies and discover a new course of study or potential career fields while building their resumes,” said Juliette McDonald, program director for Experiential Learning at the FSU Career Center. “Florida State’s on-campus Part-Time Job Fair has proven time and time again to be a win-win for both students and employers.”
The FSU Career Center provides comprehensive career services; trains career service practitioners; conducts life/career development research; and disseminates information about life/career services and issues.
