Crime Bulletin – Strong-arm robbery attempt – Stadium Driver near Medical School – Main FSU Campus

On April 12, 2012 at about 4pm, the FSU Police Department responded to a report of an attempted strongarm robbery at the bus stop on Stadium Drive on the main FSU campus near the Medical School. A female student was seated at the bus stop, listening to music on headphones. She suddenly noticed a male was standing in her personal space as a car pulled up into the pull off next to the road. The male grabbed for the victim’s purse but the victim yanked it back and ran south and jumped on a Star Metro Bus. The suspect jumped into an accomplice’s car and the car fled from the scene north. The victim was not injured and retained her belongings. The report was delayed to the FSU Police Department about 15 minutes as the victim reported to the police once she was about two bus drop offs away from the incident scene. No weapons were seen or implied.

The FSU Police Department is actively investigating this case. Reportedly there was much traffic in the area at the time of the robbery attempt. It is likely someone saw part or all of this crime. If you witnessed any portion of this offense, contact FSUPD immediately at 644-1234.

The victim provided the following suspect information:

Suspect 1 (Person who attempted to grab purse) – Male, undetermined race – described as possibly biracial, wearing a white/beige Polo style shirt, white/beige shorts, and Polo beige shoes. The shirt had a vertical blue and red stripe down the middle. Hair was tightly braided and pulled together.

Suspect 2 (back seat passenger) – Male, black, wearing a Polo style shirt with horizontal red stripes – no further description.

Suspect 3 (driver) – no description.

Suspect Vehicle – described as a 4 door dark green vehicle in poor shape. Trunk of car had faded whitish gray paint spots.

Congrats to this young lady for retaining her stuff, reporting the crime, and getting at least some type of a description of the people involved and their car. Who knows what other intentions they might have had.

Gun free zone = crime zone. Criminals know you are unarmed and will prey on you.

And just where do you suppose the young lady would have carried her concealed weapon, in her purse perhaps? A lot of good that would have been, huh? Students should ditch the ear buds and pay more attention to their surroundings.

Frenchtown on one side and FAMU on the other side of campus. FSU is surrounded by high crime areas.

I'm sure it was another group of black people attacking an innocent white girl. And almost 100% sure they weren't FSU students.
