Tallahassee, FL -- April 12, 2012 --
Crime Bulletin – Strong-arm robbery attempt – Stadium Driver near Medical School – Main FSU Campus
On April 12, 2012 at about 4pm, the FSU Police Department responded to a report of an attempted strongarm robbery at the bus stop on Stadium Drive on the main FSU campus near the Medical School. A female student was seated at the bus stop, listening to music on headphones. She suddenly noticed a male was standing in her personal space as a car pulled up into the pull off next to the road. The male grabbed for the victim’s purse but the victim yanked it back and ran south and jumped on a Star Metro Bus. The suspect jumped into an accomplice’s car and the car fled from the scene north. The victim was not injured and retained her belongings. The report was delayed to the FSU Police Department about 15 minutes as the victim reported to the police once she was about two bus drop offs away from the incident scene. No weapons were seen or implied.
The FSU Police Department is actively investigating this case. Reportedly there was much traffic in the area at the time of the robbery attempt. It is likely someone saw part or all of this crime. If you witnessed any portion of this offense, contact FSUPD immediately at 644-1234.
The victim provided the following suspect information:
Suspect 1 (Person who attempted to grab purse) – Male, undetermined race – described as possibly biracial, wearing a white/beige Polo style shirt, white/beige shorts, and Polo beige shoes. The shirt had a vertical blue and red stripe down the middle. Hair was tightly braided and pulled together.
Suspect 2 (back seat passenger) – Male, black, wearing a Polo style shirt with horizontal red stripes – no further description.
Suspect 3 (driver) – no description.
Suspect Vehicle – described as a 4 door dark green vehicle in poor shape. Trunk of car had faded whitish gray paint spots.

3. Do not display money or valuables as you walk. These of course, may be attractive to a potential robber.
4. If you see anyone suspicious or someone who alarms you for any reason, contact police. They can make sure everything is safe or take appropriate action if necessary.
