FSU Guardian App

Tallahassee, FL -- June 1, 2012 --

Turn your mobile phone into a personal safety device with FSU Guardian. It's the newest innovative service offered by the FSU Police Department.

The FSU Police Chief says as long as you have your cell phone, FSU Guardian will always be by your side.

With FSU Guardian you can build a unique personal profile that
instantaneously provides FSUPD dispatchers with critical information
in emergencies.

Officials say having your important information on-hand can help will cut back on time on the phone.

FSU Guardian can also provide police with GPS coordinates from your phone, if available, which can decrease response time and allow first responders to find you if you're in a situation where you are not be able to give them your location.

Registration is quick, easy and free to all faculty, staff and students at FSU.
All information you provide is optional and is
only seen when you call either 9-1-1 or the FSU Police Department at 644-1234 for assistance.

FSU Guardian also has an alert feature. For example, if you set your timer for 15 minutes to allow time to walk to your dorm; if you don't deactivate the alarm within that time, someone from the police department will call to check on you.
