Tallahassee, FL -- March 28, 2012 --

"Just because someone wears a hoodie, does not make them a hoodlum," U.S. Representative Bobby Rush of Illinois said on the House floors in Washington D.C.

That was the same sentiment from students at Florida State. A scene was subdued Wednesday evening on the campus of FSU. Students stood and prayed while lighting candles in remembrance of 17-year old Trayvon Martin.

"I feel like as a community and as a university that we should all come together and just with the same purpose," FSU student Jordan Gregory said.

As students stood in a circle, light from the flames of the candle bouncing across their faces, each person thought of something unique.

"When I looked at all the candles I thought of unity, everybody coming together in a trying time," FSU student Michael Theodore said.

Kai Daniels, who organized the event was happy with the amount of people who took time to think of the tragedy.

"There's a leader in all of us and coming out here and sharing the same flame just shows how powerful that really is."
