Seminoles fans were sitting elbow to elbow with FSU football players at the kick off luncheon today .
Coach Fisher - with a little help from the Marching Chiefs - got the crowd fired up and ready for the season opener in eight days.
Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston strutted his stuff for a sell out crowd as more than 1400 Seminole fans cheered, not from the sidelines, from the table.
"He taught us how to do selfies," Nancy Sauls said with a laugh.
Nancy Sauls wound up sitting right across from Winston for lunch.
"We went in and sat down, we put our stuff and we looked up and went 'Oh my word.'
"Just really excited about the year kicking off. Go 'Noles," FSU fan Mark Busby said.
"I'm excited about the season and I believe we'll be another champion this year," FSU fan Jackie Rush said.
FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher stressed the three P's: passion, priorities and persistence and another P - pressure. The pressure to repeat.
He told fans that players cannot win another championship without them.
"You want a national champion, you got a national champion," Coach Fisher said. "Every time we walk in there, I want a national championship crowd. I want it full. I want it to the max. You walk out and it makes a difference. You want us to go play in a semifinal game? You want us to play in a championship game? Don't think it doesn't matter."
"These guys are big and I'll guarantee you they are fast. It's an exciting time to be a football fan - a Florida State football fan," Voice of the Noles Gene Deckerhoff said.
"What in the heck is this?"
"That is an 1993 championship paperweight," FSU fan Paul Ort said as he lifted the huge ring around his neck.
Paul Ort has been to more of these kickoff luncheons than he can count and hopes the Noles can bring home another ring this year.
"You know, I was at the first bowl game in '49, and I've been pumped ever since," Ort said with a laugh.
