But it didn't stop Mateo Lasarso from winning. He was the most decorated winner in the junior category.

He won second in King fish, first in Spanish Mackerel and first in Grouper.

His proud pop got to see his son win big after the three-day fishing adventure.

"Wonderful feeling, nothing better to do than fish with the whole family. especially with my father who taught me everything I know and now I get to pass it down to my son," said his proud dad.

But, all participants say that the best reward was just sharing it with dad....

"It makes me feel really close to him," said a winner.

Everyone had a chance to get a piece of the jackpot, there were $50,000 worth of prizes and combined.
