At 12:49am this morning (1-5) Tallahassee Firefighters responded to a fire at 423 W College Ave., the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. The fire was in an apartment on the 2nd floor and was contained to that room. The adjacent apartment shares a bathroom and the doors were left open which allowed smoke and heat to spread to that apartment causing damage. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control within four minutes of arrival and prevent it from spreading to the rest of the building.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

No injuries were reported. Damage is estimated $50,000.
