A grand jury has indicted a Pensacola man accused of murdering a woman whose decomposing body was found near a power station substation.
Authorities said Tuesday they've not decided whether to seek the
death penalty for 22-year-old Joshua Wayne Douglas. He is charged
with first-degree murder and sexual battery in the death of
25-year-old Jamie Broxson. Her body was found Nov. 29.
Arraignment is set for Dec. 29.
Medical examiner Andi Minyard determined Broxson died from
suffocation and blood poisoning, caused by the "severe trauma" of
the rape. Authorities say DNA evidence links Douglas to Broxson.
An investigation continues into the death of 19-year-old Debra
Jones, whose body was found near Broxson's body. Douglas has not
been charged in that case.
