GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. (AP) -- A 28-year-old single mother has been wrongly arrested two times by the Clay County Sheriff's Office.
In January, Ashley Nicole Chiasson spent 28 days in jail after being extradited from her home state of Louisiana. She was released after officials realized they had the wrong person.
During a status hearing last month related to the grand theft case that was being dropped, Chiasson was arrested again on another charge. She spent another week in jail.
The sheriff's office says Chiasson was released once the mistake was realized.
The Florida Times-Union Click Here reports Chiasson's attorney sent the sheriff's office a letter of intent to sue on Monday.
The person deputies thought they were arresting is several years older and five inches taller. She's still being sought by the agency.
