Tallahassee, FL - "We're all so delighted that Florida State is the National Champions in football and so this is just like icing on the cake for us," Dr. Roxanne Picket Hauber, Coordinator of the FSU Online Graduate School Programs.
The Florida State School of Nursing's Online Graduate Program is now ranked 10TH in the nation by U.S. News and World Report. 103 schools submitted data for the review. The study looked at graduation rates, academic and career support to compile a list of the best programs in the country.
Florida State says its Online Graduate Program provides the perfect pipeline for undergrad nursing students. "Our students learn online but they learn from faculty who are experienced...85% of our faculty hold a PH.D," said Dr. Judy McFetridge-Durdle, Dean of the College of Nursing.
There are two online graduate programs at FSU, Nurse Educator and Nurse Leader. FSU says with a shortage of nurses in the state, this program is more important than ever. "It's a 35 semester hour program, the vast majority of our students are part time because the vast majority are working full time," said Dr. Hauber
FSU is using its new ranking to help provide one of the best learning experiences for its students. "Technology, distance learning technology at Florida State University that is, is just outstanding," said Dr. Hauber.
The School of Nursing said it plans to continue to grow its Online Graduate Programs. The University of Central Florida's Online Graduate Program was also ranked 24TH in the same study.
