Tallahassee, FL - On Wednesday, October 20, businesses and organizations in Tallahassee will celebrate the 10th anniversary of Florida Disability Mentoring Day (DMD) by offering students and job seekers with disabilities the chance to mentor with local business leaders.

Disability Mentoring Day is a unique, one day job shadowing opportunity that gives mentees the opportunity to learn hands-on skills, observe day-to-day job responsibilities, and get a better understanding of the workplace environment. This is also a chance for participants to meet and greet in the business world while employers share their experience and advice.

To celebrate Disability Mentoring Day, mentors and mentees will attend a luncheon at Tallahassee Community College from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the Center for Workforce Development building, room 105.

Such opportunities are sure to be memorable for Edward Harvey, a junior at Lincoln High School, who is shadowing Art Myers of WCTV.

For more information on Florida Disability Mentoring Day please contact Dan Moore, Director of Programs and Services for Ability1st, at (850) 575-9621, Ext. 102 or visit www.floridadmd.org.
