Tallahassee, FL (AP) - Governor-elect Rick Scott is sticking
to his campaign theme of creating jobs while making his first
postelection visit to the Florida Capitol.
Scott, a Republican corporate executive who lacks governmental
experience, met with outgoing Gov. Charlie Crist and incoming House
Speaker Dean Cannon, R-Winter Park.
He spoke only briefly with reporters and was reluctant to talk
about anything other than his promise to get Florida "back to
Scott offered no comment on Crist's plans to keep making
judicial and other appointments rather than leave them to him. Nor
did he object to the Legislature's plans to override Crist's vetoes
of two bills that would cut into the powers of the governor and
other executive branch officials.
