Panama City, Florida (AP) --
A Panhandle man has been convicted of murdering his wife and dumping her body in his car trunk.
Prosecutors said Michael Parker carefully planned the killing,
packing a duffel bag with gloves, rope and duct tape and then
strangling his wife, Wendy. Her body was discovered in the trunk of
his car parked in a motel parking lot in 2007.
Parker told medics his wife was in the trunk as they treated him
after a failed suicide attempt. He later confessed to deputies.
His attorney, Russell Ramey, said Parker "snapped" the night
he murdered his wife and said there was only circumstantial
evidence to support the murder was premeditated.
