Florida School Shooting Rocks Community


APOPKA, Fla. -- April 13, 2011 -

One person has been shot at Sheeler High School, Apopka police

The victim was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center.

The charter school is located at 871 E. Semoran Blvd. in Apopka.

Steven Popp of the Apopka Police Department said the person was shot in front of the school Wednesday morning.

Popp said he believes the shooter left the area and has not been apprehended.

Popp said the shooter was a heavyset man wearing a white tank top armed with a handgun.

    i was a student there for a while and im kinda glad i wasent there when it happend. one of my best friends was in the parking lot at the time and im just glad he didnt get hurt

    I think that this story is made up. We all know that it is illegal to take a gun onto school property. Ask any of the people that supported this asinine law - they will tell you it prevents gun crime.

    No one has ever said that EVERY act of violence could be prevented by private citizens carrying a weapon, only SOME could be prevented or minimized.

    All this could have been prevented if only the little children were allowed to carry their guns to school. Yea, right.
