TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) --

Tuition at Florida's 11 public universities continues to rank third-lowest in the nation even after 15 percent increases in each of the last two years.

A pair of new reports by The College Board on trends in pricing
and student aid show only Wyoming and Louisiana have annual tuition
expenses lower than Florida's $4,886.

State University System Chancellor Frank Brogan said Thursday, October 28 that the reports confirm the average net prices students pay after considering grant aid and tax benefits have gone up slower than the Consumer Price Index over the past five years.

Brogan said the new data also indicates students pick up 38
percent of their cost per credit hour while the state covers 62
percent.
