Tallahassee, Florida - June 6, 2011 -
Start off the summer with a spin by joining the Tallahassee Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Affairs Department (PRNA) this weekend, June 11-12, for the Tallahassee Open Disc Golf Tournament 2011. Open to players at all skill levels, the tournament provides fun and excitement for all, from those who haven’t thrown a disc since P.E. class to those who have their snaps, drives and putts down pat.
Those interested in participating in the tournament can register by signing up online at iRegisteredOnline.com or mailing the fee to the tournament sponsor: Friends of Our Parks, Attn: Tallahassee Open Disc Golf Tourney, 912 Myers Park Drive, Tallahassee, FL, 32301. The last day for registration is Friday, June 10, when players can register in person from 2-7 p.m. at Tom Brown Park. Registration will not be accepted on Saturday, June 11. Fees vary depending on skill level. Each division must have a minimum of three players to start.
While the weekend officially kicks off on Saturday, the event begins with a bonus doubles tournament on Friday, June 10, at 3 p.m. at Tom Brown Park. The cost for the bonus doubles event is $5.
For the official Open event, check-in begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday. Lunch is provided for players.
On Saturday, June 11, the tournament will take place at Tom Brown Park. The mandatory player meeting begins at 9:15 a.m., and play begins at 10 a.m. On Sunday, June 12, the tournament moves to Jack McLean Park. The mandatory player meeting begins at 8:45 a.m., and play begins at 9:30 a.m.
The tournament is a Professional Disc Golf Association Tier “B” event, and an event on the Fabulous Florida Tour.
