PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (AP) -- A 2-year-old girl whose death spawned a murder charge is being mourned.
A memorial service for Elliana Jamason is being held Sunday evening at Metropolitan Community Church of the Palm Beaches.
The church said in a statement that the girl's biological mother wanted the service there because "it was one of Elliana's favorite places."
The mother's longtime partner, who was considered the girl's other mother, is charged with first-degree murder in her death. Forty-year-old Kimberly Lucas of Jupiter is also charged with first-degree attempted murder of the girl's 10-year-old brother, who police say was drugged.
An attorney for Lucas says she is in shock as they continue to try and figure out what led to the death. She's held without bond.
