Quincy, FL - The smile on little Sha-lee-ah's face says it all.....The Christmas spirit is being spread all over Gadsden County.
Social Services referred 50 families to the sheriff's office with a wish list.... and like magic ---gifts appeared. Toys and bikes were given to kids while comforters, heaters and cooking supplies were given to parents. Some families even showed up in trucks to haul all their gifts away
Monique Atkins says, "Well, I thankful for that and I knew a lot of stuff she wanted, we weren't going to be able to get."
Wynetta Watch says, "Just can't tell yall how much that I do appreciate yall and I that's its going to be a help to us ans I know I'm going to enjoy it."
Down the road, at the Quincy Women's Correctional facility, the holiday sprit was in full bloom. Inmates had a wrapping party for gifts they bought with money they raised.
Mistie Merrit helped raise money and says, "It's a chance for us to be able to help with the underprivileged children to give back and for them to be able to experience a really good Christmas. It also a chance for us to experience Christmas ourselves."
A representative from Social Services told WCTV, families in need also received free home repairs like plumbing, having their heaters and even cars fixed.
