Tallahassee, FL - More construction changes are coming to the Gaines street area and they may have some drivers screaming for relief.

City staff members handed out stress balls and information cards to commuters in hopes of relieving frustrations associated with the upcoming changes.

New traffic patterns will divert eastbound traffic to Madison Street at Railroad Avenue, leaving Gaines Street as a one-way for westbound traffic only.

Stanley Bass says, "It will probably be good because there is a lot of traffic at this time and it might help some one, because like I say, it helped me so like i say I ws just mashing the ball. Maybe they will do the same thing, just mash the ball and take their time."

Routes are set to start Saturday (3-5) and continue until mid-summer.

Word on the street is that these stress balls are made in China. The paint coating the balls contains such high volumes of lead that it is not safe for children OF ANY AGE to handle them. Even though it says on the ball, "Ages 8 " City of Tallahassee, making sure our children are leaded out and stress free.

if the City of Tallahassee is truly running out of money and can not pay its bills or give its employees even a minimal raise, who paid for the stress balls? IS it a wise use of personnel to pay them to stand in the road handing out phamplets.

Gaines Street Comuter, This is not about whether the project should or should not be done. It has already been approved, so stop complaining about it, use your stress ball, and be happy!

Well, lets not get stressed. The elites who voted for this thing at the expense of the little guy are getting their little art-district so all is well. The stress balls are unnecessary because we have all learned that the elites' wishes are more important than our needs. We should just BE HAPPY we can help make our leaders happy. That is why we are here after all... to give them our money to make our lives harder. Yay us! Oh. And to all of you who are mad about this road narrowing; don't be, they are going to displace many lower income families and businesses to put a new road in through the neighborhoods surrounding FAMU to aleviate the Gaines Street congestion... in about 10 to 20 years. Just be patient.
