Charlotte, NC (AP) - A drifter already convicted of killing
two hikers he kidnapped from remote trails in the Southeast has
been indicted on murder charges in the killings of an elderly
couple who disappeared from a trail in the mountains of North
Carolina.

A federal grand jury indicted 64-year-old Gary Hilton for
kidnapping, robbery and two counts of murder in the deaths of
80-year-old John Bryant and his 84-year-old wife, Irene. The couple
was last seen on a trail in the Pisgah National Forest in October
2007.

Hilton was sentenced to death in April for killing 46-year-old
Cheryl Dunlap after kidnapping her from Leon Sinks in Florida. He is serving a life sentence after pleading guilty to killing 24-year-old Meredith Emerson in a north Georgia forest. Both women were also beheaded.

Why must we allow the lawyers and courts to get rich and famous off our suffering with this beast! Drug this admitted fiend and find out every murder he has committed . Give resolution to the families of the dead and put this beast in the ground! Why do I have to continue to feed this animal?

OK...as a Crawfordville native, nothing was more satisfying than to see Mr. Hilton receive the penalty that he deserved for what he did to Ms. Dunlap and Ms. Emmerson...I do have to ask, however...should North Carolina dump the money into a trial for a man who is already on death row in Florida and serving a life sentence in Georgia?

You got your satisfaction (at a price)... shouldn't the people of NC?

that the Bryant children would feel NC most certainly should dump the money into a trial. I would agree with them too.

This is an animal. Pure evil. The son of the devil. I think the chair, is too quick, and it will take years to kill this thing. I think you leave it in a cell, just don't give it food or water. A week-or-so, no problem!

It says in the indictment, if you care to read it, that Mr. Bryant was held for ransom. We can get much better reporting on this in other newspapers, and more thorough facts. We had the serial killer in our town, but we don't know much because it was kept so secretive. I don't know why. They report it in other places. In fact the case file in NC is open as opposed to how they handled it in Leon.

Held for ransom? I wonder if in the true sense of how we all define ransom.

Quite a bit more pain.....boom.....A LOT of pain..... whoops sorry Gary, we're gonna use the backup needle..... whoops....antifreeze? How did that happen? We'll put the right drugs in now....just relax....

Okay people . It is time to put this low scum to death ad stop wasting tax dollars and making the defense attorneys rich. The defense attorneys will milk this as long as they can.
