Gator to Blame in Dog's Death?

An alligator trapper has been called to
a Pinellas County pond after a dog was likely killed by an
alligator.
Someone spotted the dead dog floating near an alligator on
Monday morning. Officials say the dog, a boxer named Gage, ran away Saturday night.
Warm weather means more gator activity in Florida. The reptiles
will come out of hiding and may be spotted crossing golf course
fairways, plopping down in carports and nestling in back-yard
swimming pools.
They also are active in the water and the Florida Fish and
Wildlife Conservation Commission reminds people to be cautious in
waters where gators may be found, which is about every unfenced
freshwater spot -- and sometimes in brackish water -- in all 67
counties.
