Havana, FL -- May 14, 2012 --
Students from Tallavana Christian School saw what could happen if they text behind the wheel or drink and drive.
Rishard Ford, says, "I should not text or use my phone."
Kaityln Mullins adds, "I know I'm probably not going to text and drive after seeing something like that."
ITT Technical School teamed up with Gadsden County EMS and other emergency responders to give them a real life glimpse of tragedy.
This car really was involved in a serious crash in Gadsden County not too long ago but unlike in the exercise here, the driver was able to walk away.
Mikeya Brown, an 8th grader, says. "You could be the other person in the other car and someone is being stupid and texting and they run and hit you."
The driver in this deadly two car crash was arrested for drunk driving.
Austin Fultineer, another student, says, "They're taking somebody bad off the streets that could kill somebody."
It was something most of the kids had never seen.
It's, now, something they hope they never cause.
The program was a community project for the ITT Technical School students.
