May 14, 2012 - Noon -

Students at Tallavanna are getting a taste of how distracted driving can change their lives.

ITT Technical Institute and local law enforcement wanted students to see what could happen to them if they chose to drive drunk or entertain distractions behind the wheel.

To view pictures of the event, click on the "Photos" tab above.

They set up a crash scene on the baseball field. Some people were on the hoods of cars, others inside, and the cars were mangled. Actors wore makeup to show their injuries. The area was flooded with emergency response teams, showing students what could happen to them if they don't choose their decisions carefully.

I am not sure if Brenda Sizemore-Bowman initiated this event or not but she has been a huge part of this in the past. I am glad to see the kids hopefully learning of the dangers. Great job everybody!!!

People don't "choose their decisions," they make decisions.
