Montréal, Québec – June 6, 2011 -

Keeping his promise to be Florida’s chief economic development officer and create 700,000 jobs over seven years, Florida Governor Rick Scott today embarked on a week-long trade mission to Canada to entice Canadian companies to do business in Florida.

Joining Governor Scott on the five-day, two-city tour is Enterprise Florida President Gray Swoope and a delegation of key Florida business leaders and stakeholders. The delegation will visit both Montreal and Toronto – Canada’s largest city.

“Combine the impact of two-way trade, investment and tourism, and Canada is Florida’s number one economic partner, so it makes sense that this would be one of my very first trade missions,” said Governor Scott. “Over the next week I will meet with Canadian officials and business leaders to discuss opportunities for increased trade, tourism and business that will benefit both of our economies.”

On Wednesday, Governor Scott will make an important economic development announcement from Montreal.

This is Governor Scott’s second trade mission since taking office. In March he traveled to Panama to view first-hand the expansion of the Panama Canal.

Mind you, I am a patriot and please don't hold it against me for not doing my share ". Just found out today we are still under contract for the new fiscal year with Solantic, we HAVE to use them. I was certain the governorship was not suppose to allow he or his family to profit from being governor. Have they sold the company yet or does his wife (after the transfer) still own it? This is so wrong.

Sadly, this farce of a governor was elected by popular vote. You thought Jeb Bush was bad for the people, wait a bit longer. I fear for my family's safety who still live in Florida. Now he even gets involved with baggy pants. Crazy isn't it?

I don't understand why we need to invite foreign companies to do business in our state. How jobs going to be creatd when most likely if they relocate here, they are going to send their people to handle the business. He has enticed China and now he going after Canada. These people are not going to give jobs to the millions of Floridians that are unemployed. He needs to stop and think about ways to establish companies in the state and help these companies for a year by hiring the unemployed and provide training for those having to seek employment outside their area of skill. This money will not be benefiting this country because those companies will be governed by the home office policies and not the United States policies of doing business.

The United States Constitution; Article 1 section 10. Read it. This man is on a vacation. In the same way a potential client buys lunch for a vendor, that is considered a business expense if they discuss business. Comes right-off the top of your gross...He's on vacation. U.S. Constitution Article I section 10. That is what makes it legal.

where did you get the money, like obama traveling all over to find jobs instead of laying police , prision guards and prisions down to nothimg and not accounting for your huge wealth increase and states lost of 100 of thousand of jobs, sale of your companies after making new law and who is paying for this trip since we need so many cuts in employement to live safely.Sounds like your running from unaswered questions after what looks like robbing our state with cuts and no creditability where your puting the moneys.Whos jet did you use and was it one of the one you sold that people have heard that sold for nothing and are in one of your many comoany names. Somebody please tell me how many companies does he own now and before he was governor. How many stimules checks did he recieve and were they used for employment or just to fattin his already full accounts. Please SLICK RICK SCOTT stay in canada and leave fla before you end up in jail, as the people of fla can only take so much of your what appears to be under the table grand theft, plead the 5th has been wore out.Much safer to retire and stay in canada than come home and face more court hearings coming your way soon. You must answer to the protesters you illegal thru out, and you run and hide. BY BY we hope
