Jim Burnette and Bryan Radford are homeless. They take shelter sometimes here at Lake Ella. But nothing has been able to shelter them from the heat.

"It's sweltering, it's pretty bad. Dehydrate, lack of water, the only water we really have is out of these spigots here," said Burnette.

Like many of the homeless people, Jim and Bryan have little more than the clothes they have on and whatever else they could find. They say the heat makes their situation that much more difficult.

"Body odor is caused by the sweat, there's limited places to take a shower and if you can get one you have to fight for it," said Burnette.

The heat got to them so bad last week that it affected all parts of their lives.

"Sitting right here, we're sweating our butts off. We can't leave 'cause the heats so bad, walk down the street find something to eat, but we can't find anything unless you go dumpster dive," said Radford.

The easy answer is to wear cooler clothing, but the selection can be limited at the local Salvation Army
.
"Most of the time you can't find clothes that fit you, you just take what they give you. It's not like you can go down there with 20 dollars and be picky about it," said Burnette.

For now, they sit, and sweat, and hope to make it through another day.
