The Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office and the state Fire Marshal are investigating a 3:55 a.m. house fire reported March 1 at 140 Fulton Harvey Road in Crawfordville, according to Sheriff David Harvey.
A neighbor reported hearing popping sounds and discovered that the home of Russell and Sally Denmon was on fire. Deputy Ian Dohme arrived on the scene and observed a brick house completely engulfed in flames. As he got closer, he also observed a truck at the home fully involved as well.
Wakulla firefighters arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire. The homeowners were in Virginia at the time and the home was unoccupied. The home and truck were both a total loss.
The exact cause of the fire and the value of the lost property are still to be determined. Detective Erika Fore, CSI Allison Blackstock and Deputy Clint Beam also investigated.
