OAKLAND PARK, Fla. (AP) -- All lanes of traffic on Interstate 95 have been reopened after a homicide investigation in South Florida.
The Broward Sheriff's Office reports the shooting happened Sunday at about 6:40 a.m.
BSO spokeswoman Dani Moschella says the driver of a silver Buick was shot and then hit a guardrail on the southbound entrance ramp of the I-95 at Commercial Boulevard, about five miles north of Fort Lauderdale. The vehicle then caught fire.
Deputies and firefighters responded to the scene and extinguished the blaze. The driver was found dead inside.
All southbound lanes of the I-95 at Commercial Boulevard were closed as police investigated the homicide. All lanes were reopened by noon.
Investigators say the shooting may have stemmed from an incident at a nearby Waffle House
