Innovation Park Gets Settlement

Innovation Park board has reached a settlement agreement in relation to embezzlement by a former officer manager, who is now serving eight years in prison.

The previous auditors for Innovation Park have agreed to pay $250,000 that will offset the money that former employee Shanna Lewis stole.

The auditors did not catch the $650,000.

The Innovation Park executive director say the auditors have not admitted they did anything wrong; but, says a settlement was the best way for both parties to move forward.

The board hopes to also get some money back from Lewis's personal items that will be auctioned off.

Innovation Park didn't miss the money to start with - why do they get money now? And don't they also have the embezzler paying back money also? Is Innovation Park making money on this deal all the way around?

Just because I won't miss something doesn't mean you can steal it from me. Also the settlement from the auditor is not restitution, it is for damage caused by not finding the embezzlement for years, which allowed it to continue. Also just because someone is making payments to make restitution, doesn't mean that she will ever completely pay it all back.
