The groundskeepers at Florida State pride themselves on their field... cutting the grass, edging, watering, and packing the mound to perfection.

Groundskeepers hit the field at the crack of dawn on game day to make sure the field looks pristine when the fans come through the gates.

Coach Martin and his staff like their field a certain way and the grounds crew makes sure that "11" and the team walk on to their "Field of Dreams" every time they take the field at Dick Howser Stadium.

One of the grounds keepers even has his favorite spot. Mike Carson says, "Pitchers mound.. I don't know why. I've just always loved the pitchers mounds, and teaming up with them and working them and making them right. It's always kind of my passion, about the pitchers mound."

Pitchers are always very superstitious--some like a hard mound, others like it soft--but it's up to Carson and his staff to make sure each 'Nole has the field exactly how he likes it.
