Kidnapped Florida Woman Escapes Abductors in Mississippi

Panama City Beach, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities say a woman who was kidnapped in Florida was able to escape her abductors in Mississippi.

A Bay County Sheriff's Office statement says 34-year-old Flor Esmeralda Turcio-Arias escaped Thursday evening and went to Hattiesburg Police Department for help.

The Hattiesburg American reports that Turcio-Arias told officers she had been abducted and escaped through a bathroom window. She took officers to the home of her captors where a man and woman were taken into custody. They haven't been identified.

The FBI is now investigating.
