LCSO Press Release 1/30/11:

At approximately 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2011 the Leon County Sheriff’s Office responded to 3618 North Monroe Street in reference to a robbery. Deputies arrived and learned that a man
entered the bank, passed a bank employee a note demanding money and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Detectives from the Crime Scene Unit and the Violent Crimes Unit responded to the scene, collected physical evidence and conducted interviews. The suspect is described as a white male in his 20’s to
early 30’s. He was wearing a black shirt with a red and silver emblem on it and a gray jacket. The man was wearing jeans and boots. He appeared to be approximately 5-08 tall and is estimated to weigh 160 pounds. The bank’s surveillance system captured images of the suspect and they were broadcast to the public through local media outlets.

Detectives stated that Daniel Pruitt, 39, walked into the Leon County Sheriff’s Office and turned himself in after family members saw his picture in the media coverage of the robbery. Pruitt was interviewed, arrested and taken to the Leon County Jail. Pruitt is charged with Robbery and Grand Theft.

Sheriff Larry Campbell stated, “This is a great example of the media’s coverage assisting law enforcement with an investigation. This defendant’s family knew it was only a matter of time and they
convinced him to do the right thing.”

In the news today, a black man gets 30 years for a break-in when the home is empty and a white man gets one year with time served and will get help for treatment and this was a bank robbery with people in it. What type of message are we sending if you are white it is okay and black you get no second chance. I see why I hate america.

Mya, please feel free to leave this place you hate being. That black man you speak of has a life long felonious history and *right now* is facing trial on a laundry list of additional charges. Your chosen prejudice is very telling.

If you must impersonate TIR, could you refrain from using slang, I don't write it and I don't use it in my everyday language. Much appreciated.

Is it fun living in a dream world? This THUG didn't feel remorse. He had been recognized in the media by his family members and probably by others as well. He knew the police would be coming for him and probably turned himself in so that he would get off easier, which he did. Of course turning himself in didn't make a difference, white people often get off easier than others. He is a thug, I know that is hard for you people to come to terms with, but try...sheesh.
