The Leon County Board of County Commissioners adopted the fiscal year 2012/2013 budget of $223,090,504 Tuesday evening, reducing government spending by $12.5 million or 5.3 percent from last year’s budget of $235,617,730.
The adopted budget fills a $10.2 million budget shortfall. For the fifth year in a row, Leon County has reduced the budget resulting in a cumulative savings of $61.6 million or roughly 22 percent since 2008.
