All Leon County offices and libraries, with the exception of Parks and Recreation facilities and the Solid Waste Management Facility, will be closed on Friday, November 11, in observance of Veteran’s Day.

All County parks and the Solid Waste Management Facility on Apalachee Parkway will remain open. The Rural Waste Service Centers will be open as well. Waste Management, Inc. will run their normal Friday schedule on Veteran’s Day and will not be closed. For more information, call the Leon County Solid Waste Management Division at (850) 606-1800.

The Collins Main Library and the branch libraries will re-open on Saturday, November 12, at 10 a.m.

Leon County Animal Control will also be closed; however, in the event of an emergency, service is available by calling the Leon County Sheriff’s Office at (850) 922-3300. Leon County Animal Control encourages residents to only use this service in cases of dangerous or aggressive dogs, sick or injured domestic animals, animal cruelty or animal bites. Injured wildlife calls will be forwarded to the St.
Francis Wildlife Association at (850) 627-4151.
