Ariel Gandy walked, linked arm in arm with the Leon High Lions on to the football field.

Showing united not only on the field, but throughout the week as her peers showed their support, raising funds ... while Ariel battles liver cancer.

Ariel's friend, Ryan Reynolds says, "I just knew all I could do was help and be there for her. I know if I were in this situation she would be there for me."

All spirit week, Ariel's peers have been donating money to make her homecoming night the best ever. Complete with a brand new dress, hair appointment and a limousine ride to the dance.

"People were donating. I was watching people just drop all their money in the bucket." "It filled me with hope to know that students that don't know Ariel gave everything they had for her."

Ariel was named the football team's sweetheart and escorted them onto the grid iron. The team also dedicated jersey number 12 to their number one fan.

While the high school junior shied away from the camera, her best friends say they are thankful for the loyalty and love from their fellow Lions.

Jordan Rodman says, "Thank you guys for filling her with that smile she carries around with her all the time."

"We love you Ariel!"

I too am a LION Alumni. This makes me even MORE proud to say that. You see, there are still some good poeple/kids in this world. Others should make note of this and learn from generosity, friendship and hope!!! God Bless Ariel and her family. Keep the faith! Cherish each day. Never stop smiling!!!

This is a great story. I wish her well. It's a good thing ObamaCare is not in place, her options would be exactly zero.
