Tallahassee, FL - President Obama fired back at Russian President, Vladimir Putin Tuesday after claims that Russia had every right to intervene in Ukraine. According to Putin, Russian speaking people in the nation were asking for help.

"The fact of that we are still seeing soldiers out of their barracks in Crimea is an indication to which what's happening there is not based on actual concern for Russian nationals or Russian speakers inside of Ukraine, but is based on Russia seeking, through force, to exert influence on a neighboring country", says the president.

Despite Russia's intentions, all the unrest in Ukraine, a country with a large number of people who consider themselves to be western, has many in the U.S. wondering what comes next. One local expert says she doesn't see U.S. forces getting involved.

"In my opinion, I don't really see this becoming an armed conflict. We're going to see a lot of posturing, but ultimately, I think everything's going to be resolved diplomatically", says Audrey Heffron Casserleigh, Director of the FSU Emergency Management Program. I mean, I think we need to be realistic. The 24-hour news cycle has created a lot of fear and a lot of speculation, but honestly, The U.S. is not going to put boots on the ground to solve this conflict in this region."

President Obama also said Tuesday that it isn't Russia or the U.S.' job to make decisions for the Ukrainian people and that no one, especially the military, should meddle or intervene.

During his press conference today, Obama said that he expects to be making calls to foreign partners throughout the week and the weekend on the situation in the region.
