"Rain, rain, go away" is what many people say when stormy weather blows our way. But, some businesses welcome the rain with open arms.
Local nursery employees say sometimes bad weather causes people to stay indoors instead of heading out to their establishment, but they say the rain is essential for their plants and flowers and benefits overall sales of their product.
"It helps keep the plants hydrated, the little roots and the root balls hydrated; and actually the rain, it gets all of the plant where as irrigation it's kind of a hit and miss, but the rain is good because it soaks pretty much the entire plant," said Debra Allen
Nursery employees say winter is the best time to start building your garden because the plants require less maintenance this time of year.
