Nearly 80 percent of people are dissatisfied with their body. That's according to FSU health officials. They want to lower that rate on campus.

A Kickboxing class in the middle of Landis Green. This is one of the activities at Florida State's "Love Your Body Day."

"We really are encouraging students to feel more confident in their own skin," said FSU Health Promotion Director Amy Magnuson.

Many students walked by the event's displays on their way to class. Some stopped to participate. One booth shows positive and negative advertisements. Students can weigh in as they pass.

"It helps them kind of get them to think about some of the negative messages they might be getting from the media or from popular magazines," said FSU Counselor Amanda McClure.

With these airbrushed images bombarding us everyday, health experts say we're all susceptible to a negative body image which can lead to eating disorders or depression.

There's a way to fight the negativity though...

"Focus on what your talents are, what your good at and not so much what the scale says you weigh," said Magnuson.

Another exercise at love your body day. Write down something that you love about your body.
