MDA Lockup Aims to Raise $70 Grand

February 24, 2011 by Julie Montanaro

Patrol cars swarmed a Tallahassee hotel this morning and a bevy of arrests followed.

More than 200 people were locked up to help raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

This "booking" room at the Four Pointes by Sheraton Hotel was buzzing as community leaders tried to raise bail for their release.

The target? 32-hundred dollars a piece. That money will go toward everything from sending a kid to MDA camp to funding scientific research.

The compassionate "convicts" are expected to raise more than 70-thousand dollars today and will present that check on the MDA Labor Day Telethon.

You can see that right here on WCTV, Sunday, September 4, from 6pm to midnight.
