Live Oak, FL (AP) - A north Florida man pleaded guilty to
aggravated child abuse in the death of a little girl after a jury
failed to reach a verdict in his murder trial.
As part of a plea deal to avoid a retrial, 28-year-old Ronald
Edward Kramer pleaded guilty Friday to the lesser charge. He will
serve 10 years in prison.
Kramer was first arrested in March 2008 after 18-month old
Olivia Rescigno was found dead in her crib at her Suwannee County
home with bruises on her face and legs and a bite wound on her
thigh. The girl's mother, Rebecca Rescigno, pleaded guilty to child
endangerment in return for her testimony against Kramer.
The jury for Kramer's murder trial began deliberating Wednesday
afternoon but told the judge about three hours later that they
would not be able to reach a decision.

The child was 18 months old and you say the bruising is less than 2cm? 2.5 cm = 1 inch so that is a large bruise for a child of that age and a bite on her thigh? And you say he did nothing wrong... I guess that is your opinion, how about those 50 times of being hospitalized? Could it be from the trauma her little body incurred that caused her to stop breathing? And superficial bruising... it's a bruise on the exterior part of the body, that means you can see it!! And hopefully "Ronald" and the so-called mother of this child will be reminded everyday of the pain and anguish that they caused this little angel... Physically and mentally reminded that is!!!!May God comfort Olivia in his arms as she so deserved here on earth....

It is amazing how so many people have an opinion, when they don't know the facts. Do either of you know that 2 medical examiners couldn't even figure out why Olivia died listed the cause as unknown. Do either of you know that she was in the hospital over 50 times because she had stopped breathing.. How about the fact that she had alot of superficial bruises.. less then 2cm in diameter... not huge bruises. Oh that's right, we live in a society that figures out the truth by 2 paragraphs in the newspaper. Ronald has to live with the fact that he did nothing wrong but is now in prison... How would you feel if you did nothing wrong but everyone thought you did by a few sentences in the newspaper? John 7:24, "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment."

What was wrong with the jurors...they did not do their job...10 years is nothing compared to that baby's life and the mom don't even get me started.

this shows how bsckwoods suwannee county is. to let a murder go from life in prison to 10 yrs, all because the prosecutor settled for less. that little girls life was worth more. its not all about statistics. He should of been retried
