Panama City, FL (AP) - A Florida Panhandle man whose baby was
badly burned in a meth lab explosion has been found guilty of child
abuse and other charges.
A Bay County jury also found 44-year-old John Osborn guilty
Thursday of manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of a
A judge later sentenced him to 30 years in prison on the child
abuse charge and 30 years on the manufacturing meth charge, to run
Authorities arrested Osborn and the baby's mother, Tessa Wagy,
in August 2009 after their home exploded while Osborn was trying to
cook meth. Their 1-year-old daughter suffered burns to 65 percent
of her body.
Wagy was sentenced last month to serve 30 years for a
methamphetamine charge and 20 years for child abuse. The sentences
will also run consecutively.
