Lakeland, Florida (AP) --

Authorities say a man has been critically injured after being shot outside a central Florida bakery.

Police were called to the Wonder Hostess bakery outlet in
Lakeland Wednesday evening (Oct. 13). Investigators say a man and his girlfriend had committed a burglary at the bakery and placed
pastries and other bread items in their vehicle.

Sgt. Terri Smith says the suspect then cut open the vinyl roof
of a Corvette, triggering the alarm. The owner of the vehicle,
Toney Anthony Price, exited the building and got into an
altercation with the man.

Lakeland police say Toney Anthony Price exited the building
after the alarm for his car went off. According to investigators,
Price was armed with a handgun and got into an altercation with the
man who had stolen the bread.

Police say the suspect was shot in the head.

The man's name has not been released, pending notification of
next of kin.

No further details were immediately available.

Ignorance? Ignorance would be supporting a criminal act by restricting a property owner from defending what belongs to him by whatever means he so chooses. Speaking of ignorance, just what is a " showning ", Einstein?

MIKE...Considering the circumstances, I believe you're wrong. If I sat on his jury he would be not guilty.

Woops! Florida law says you can't shoot someone over stealing or damaging property. Unless there is a lot more to this story, Mr. Corvette owner is going to the gray bar hotel for an extended stay.

Stealing bread? Worth losing your life over? Hope the guy who shot him gets a medal and the girl helping him gets charged with murder. This nonsense of taking others property has to stop.
