SANFORD, Fla. (AP) -- Police have closed down several stores at a
central Florida mall after a group of men wielding sledgehammers
robbed a jewelry store.
The robbery at the Seminole Town Center occurred as families
were waiting nearby to take a photo with Santa on Sunday. No
injuries were reported.
Mayors Jewelers store manager Neil Norton says the thieves could
end up on a "stupid crimes" show. He noted that they were
captured on video and left behind blood samples and a hammer. They
also went for the least-valuable cases in the store.
