Tampa, FL (AP) - A Tampa mother has been charged with
strangling her infant daughter because the child wouldn't stop
Police arrested 31-year-old Eboni Thompson on Friday, charging
her with first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated child
Thompson was visiting her husband and five children Tuesday when
the husband reportedly left and went to the store. Thompson no
longer lives with her family and was not supposed to be around the
Police say Thompson admitted choking 4-month-old Markala
Thompson until she stopped crying and breathing. When the husband
returned and found the girl unresponsive, he called 911. The child
was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Authorities are still investigating the husband for leaving the
children with Thompson.
